(New Age) 1994
My debut album. I was 17 when I started working on it, still in my tiny box-room bedroom. I begged and borrowed equipment and roped some friends in to play flute, oboe, clarinet and vocals. All of these ‘session musicians’ were younger than me! The album got me my first publishing deal and an investor paid for CD and cassette manufacture. We sold 1000 copies pretty quickly and the album has since been re-released digitally. Having had a taste of writing for film by this point, I had become fascinated with the idea of storytelling through music. Dream Spinning was my first attempt to transport the listener on a journey and tell a story in an album length work.
